Building grant awarded
Piqua Mainstreet has been awarded a $95,000 grant for the S. Zollinger Company Building project.
The grant is from the National Park Service’s Paul Bruhn Historic Revitalization Grants Program, which helps Ohio Main Street communities with rehabilitating historic buildings.
The 101 S. Wayne St. building has been vacant for more than 10 years, but once was a commercial grocery warehouse. Plans are to redo the historic space to accommodate mixed uses including a ground floor market hall and residential spaces. This grant will help pay to restore historic windows, to operating efficiency and to replace non-historic windows with complementary replacements.
