YMCA annual campaign
Countryside YMCA is launching its annual fundraising campaign March 22 to help ensure that everyone in Warren County has access to vital community programs and resources – especially during these challenging times.
Every year, Countryside YMCA works to respond to the needs of the community. Since the country began seeing the effects of COVID-19, the Y mobilized to provide the essential services needed in Warren County.
This year, Countryside YMCA hopes to raise $275,000 that will support programs such as LiveStrong at the YMCA, Blessed Respite Care, Begin to Swim, Early Learner
Literacy and financial assistance for child care and memberships.
The campaign will close with a virtual fundraising event on April 29. The Thurby will be held the Thursday before the Kentucky Derby. It will include an auction, online horse racing game, guest speaker, Kentucky Derby trivia, best Derby hat and best Derby dressed, and much more! Anyone can join in the Thurby fun; you do not have to be a YMCA member. Register for the Thurby at YMCATHURBY.givesmart.com
Since last March, the Y has: partnered with Joshua’s Place to help provide more than 30,000 meals to children and families in our community, provided child care to essential workers, made phone calls to seniors and others who face social isolation, modified the fitness center to ensure members feel safe while maintaining their healthy routines, and created a safe space for children to learn and develop.
