Neighborhood Pride Program marks 33rd year
Dear Neighbors:
This is my favorite time of year as I see Kettering residents out and about enjoying longer days as we head toward summer. As the pandemic begins to lighten its grip, the city’s volunteers are beginning to return and resume their roles and responsibilities. We are grateful for their extraordinary talents in helping us add those special touches to services we offer.
One of the most valuable programs supported by our volunteers is celebrating 33 years of success! Kettering’s Neighborhood Pride Program was designed to honor residents who have made significant improvements to their homes or who have impeccably maintained their properties year after year. Not only does this program give friends, neighbors and city staff the opportunity to recognize the efforts of property owners, its bigger impact is the beautification of our city.
We invite you to nominate a neighbor, a business or any Kettering property you think is deserving of the Neighborhood Pride Award beginning May 1.
There are several ways to submit a nomination:
■ Visit www.ketteringoh.org to submit an online nomination.
■ Call the Volunteer Office at 937-296-2433 to nominate someone.
■ Email marylou.randolph@ketteringoh.org with nomination information.
■ Mail your nomination to the Volunteer Office, 3600 Shroyer Road, Kettering OH 45429.
Nominations will be accepted until Aug. 1. All nominations are reviewed by our dedicated committee of volunteers.
All award winners are recognized at a City Council meeting, and a decorative sign is placed in the front yard of the award-winning properties.
Congratulations to the volunteers who have worked so diligently through the last three decades to preserve good, stable, attractive neighborhoods that maintain property values. Your efforts are one of the many reasons our citizens can be proud to call Kettering home!
Take care.
