WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE

A Wright-Patterson Air BASE —

Force Base gate is closed for the next two months for a $1.8 million construction project.

Gate 15A was closed to all inbound and outbound traffic at 6 p.m. Friday. The gate is the access-entry point off state Route 844.

Construction is scheduled to start on Monday and end by June 17.

The project will improve security, traffic movement and weather protection for Security Forces, according to base officials.

Temporary changes will also impact gates 12A and 1A. Commuters should allow for extra time to adjust.

Other changes drivers need to be aware of include:

■ Ogden Avenue/Road C will be a one-way entry from state Route 844 into the Air Force Materiel Command headquarters and Visitor Center parking lot. Motorists can access Gate 12A from Ogden Avenue, but are advised to use state Route 844 Exit 3 to state Route 444.

■ Those leaving the Air Force

Materiel Command headquarters and Visitors Center Parking lot must take Ogden Avenue and Childlaw Road. They can turn left to enter or right to exit using a right-turn only lane onto state Route 444.

■ All lanes at Gate 12A will be inbound only, except for one outbound lane from Ogden Avenue, Monday through Friday from 6 to 9 a.m. Traffic will revert to normal outside those hours. On weekdays from 6 to 9 a.m. exiting traffic must use gates 16A or 1A

■ Gate 16A will be open at the southwest end of Communications boulevard to outbound traffic only from Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
