Man convicted of murder in stabbing

A jury found a man guilty in a 2018 deadly stabbing at a Dayton apartment complex.

Laron N. Cunningham, 41, was convicted of murder, felonious assault, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and burglary, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

On Dec. 8, 2018, Cunningham was found at an apartment building and claimed he needed medical help.

While at the hospital, he reportedly made comments about killing a man at an apartment at Wilkinson Apartments on West Fifth Street.

Police were contacted and found 60-year-old Michael Oliver stabbed to death in his apartment. Cunningham sold Oliver’s possession­s to buy crack cocaine, according to the prosecutor’s office.

Cunningham was indicted on 14 charges on April 2, 2019, including repeat violent offender violations. He was previously convicted of robbery, aggravated robbery and felonious assault.

He will have a hearing on repeat violent offender specificat­ions May 10.

DAYTON Father indicted after 3-month-old injured

A Dayton father was indicted Friday in a case that accuses him of injuring his 3-month-old daughter.

Logan Green, 28, was indicted on one count of endangerin­g children, according to the Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office.

“This defenseles­s baby was seriously injured at the hands of her 28-yearold father because he was more interested in playing video games than caring for his daughter,” Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. said. “Parenting can be frustratin­g at times, but this defendant’s heinous actions are beyond belief or comprehens­ion.”

The prosecutor’s office said authoritie­s began their investigat­ion March 27 when the mother of the child took the infant to Dayton Children’s Hospital for a fever and vomiting. The baby was given a chest x-ray and a doctor found the infant had five healing rib fractures.
