High school fruit sale

-

The annual Oakwood High School fruit sale has begun. This fruit sale is vital to the success of the band program. In addition to helping students raise funds for the band’s upcoming trip to Disney World in February 2022, the sale also supports instrument purchases, enrichment programs, and the junior high and elementary school.

The fruits are supplied by Pee Jay’s Fresh Fruits, which offers Florida’s citrus and Indian River varieties. The freshly picked fruit arrives by truck Sunday, Dec. 5 -- in time for holiday giving and enjoyment.

Through Nov. 15, OHS band members will be stopping by homes in Oakwood to collect orders for fruit and to accept donations. There will also be an option for customers to purchase items for the Dayton Foodbank.

If the band misses you or if you have any questions about the fruit sale, please send an e-mail that includes your name, address and phone number to OakwoodBandFruit@gmail.com. A band member will contact you to take your order.

This year, online ordering will also be available at the band’s eCommerce site: www.FreshFruitOrder.org/OakwoodBandFruit. Gift-shipping items can be shipped via UPS the week before Thanksgiving through the third week in December. Local orders, which will arrive by truck Sunday, Dec. 5, will be delivered by band members to customer’s porches to provide the safest sale possible.

The Oakwood Band program continues to grow, with a lot of hard work from student musicians and director Adam Uhlenhake. Thank you to the Oakwood community for your enthusiastic support of the bands throughout the year.
