Age 91, of Dayton, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born March 12, 1930, in Coraopolis, Pennsylvan­ia, to Albert R. and Winona (Moltz) Dawson. Janice married Carl V. Zahn on August 2, 1952 in Dayton, OH. Jan was a member of the Eintracht Singing Society, Liederkran­z-Turner, Shamrock Club and the AXP Associatio­n of Ex-pupils. She was raised in the OS&SO Home in Xenia, OH, and graduated in 1948. Jan was very proud to be elected by her peers to the AXP Hall of Fame. She was an active member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Dayton, OH. Jan enjoyed camping with her family from coast to coast, and border to border, with Myrtle Beach as her favorite destinatio­n. She was a member of the Tow-Low Club #15. Jan loved her German heritage and traveling to Germany. Janice is survived by her son, Steve Zahn; her daughter, Carol Zahn; three grandchild­ren, Chuck, Marie and Evan; one greatgrand­child, Atticus; and other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Carl; her parents; brothers, George, Floyd and Ray Dawson; sisters, Winona "Betty" Dawson and Gloria Van Hook.
