Movie: Coyote Creek Christmas, 8 PM on HALL:

Paige Parker (Janel Parrish) volunteers to take charge of the annual holiday party at the Coyote Creek Inn, her parent’s hotel in the Rocky Mountains, confident that the gig will earn her a promotion at the upscale event-planning company where she works. She settles on a “Christmas around the world” theme spotlighting the diverse holiday traditions of guests at the inn. Meanwhile, her parents are quietly planning to sell their hotel to Dylan Bailey (Ryan Paevey), a handsome real estate developer and single father. Cameron Bancroft also stars.

Movie: Torn From Her Arms, 8 PM on LIF; 12:01 AM on LIF:

Based on a harrowing true story that played out against the backdrop of the crisis at the U.S.-Mexican border, this taut 2021 docudrama stars Judy Reyes (“Scrubs”) as Thelma Garcia, a Texas immigration lawyer fighting desperately to reunite loved ones separated in the midst of politically-motivated chaos. Fátima Molina plays Cindy Madrid, who fled violence in El Salvador with her six-year-old daughter, only to be forced apart by U.S. immigration officers. Gloria Reuben stars as the journalist who broke the story.

Movie: In the Heights, 8 PM on HBO:

It underperformed at the box office, but filmmaker Jon M. Chu’s 2021 feature film adaptation of the Tony Awardwinning Broadway musical co-created by Lin-Manuel Miranda was one of the most critically acclaimed movies of its release year. An explosion of infectious melodies and high-energy performances, the film follows the daily life of Usnavi (Anthony Ramos), a bodega owner in New York’s predominantly Dominican neighborhood of Washington Heights. The huge cast also includes Jimmy Smits, Olga Merediz, Stephanie Beatriz, Daphne Rubin-Vega and Melissa Barrera. Watch for Miranda’s cameo as a street vendor.
