Career Adventures Day

- STAFF REPORT

Dayton Metro Library will host its second annual Career Adventures Day at the Main Library today. Hundreds of students from area middle schools are expected to participate.

This event is designed to support the Ohio Department of Education’s mission to create pathways for successful futures by allowing students a chance to explore a variety of careers.

“The importance of exposing young people to a wide variety of career options can’t be overstated,” said Diane Farrell, director, external relations and development

at DML. “The entire community benefits when our talented youth stay local and keep contributing to the future.”

Career Adventures Day is an outgrowth of DML’s wildly successful, nationally-recognized Career Adventures Camp – an immersive, week-long summer day camp that has been held in the past. While not as intensive as the camp, this event gives hundreds of students hands-on experience with some of the most interesting, in-demand careers in our region.
