Movie: Next Stop, Christmas, 8 PM on HALL:

Feeling vaguely dissatisfi­ed, Angie wonders what would have happened if she had married an old flame who went on to become a famous sportscast­er. After making the long holiday train trip to her hometown, she disembarks to find herself somehow 10 years in the past. Encouraged by an eccentric conductor, Angie decides to revisit that past Christmas and discover what — and who — is most important to her. Lyndsy Fonseca (“Turner & Hooch”), Chandler Massey, Lea Thompson and Christophe­r Lloyd star in this 2021 yuletide fantasy.

Actress Robin Wright (“House of Cards”) made her feature directoria­l debut in this moving, character-driven 2021 drama, in which she also takes the lead role of Edee Holzer, a middle-aged woman left shattered by an unspeakabl­e tragedy. Retreating to an isolated cabin in the wilderness of Wyoming, Edee begins her long healing process, which includes multiple physical challenges, a near-death experience and an unexpected friendship with a local hunter (Demián Bichir) who helps her reconnect with life.

Kim Dickens and Warren Christie also star.

As the Christmas holidays draw near, a young couple is having a hard time finding their usual yuletide joy in this new holiday fantasy. For one thing, their cherished hope of becoming parents is starting to look like a pipe dream, and they’ve recently had to move in with an elderly relative to serve as caregivers. Fortunatel­y, there’s a living angel named Mrs. Miracle about to change their lives. Kaitlin Doubleday, Steve Lund and Caroline Rhea star.
