The following are a sampling of food operation inspection reports from the Public Health — Dayton & Montgomery County, from the week of Oct. 24-28. View full inspection­s reports online at inspection­s.phdmc.org.

IHOP 6930 Miller Lane, Butler Twp.

Date of inspection: Oct. 26

Violations: Two pans, one filled with bags of portioned ham and the other with bags of portioned turkey, were without a date label. Person in charge voluntaril­y discarded the product.

Growth observed on areas of the wall and ceiling within the walk-in cooler. Clean and maintain.

Growth observed on the wall (around plumbing lines) behind the currently unused servers station. Take measures to remediate any present issues and clean the affected area.

Comments: The office of environmen­tal health at Public Health — Dayton & Montgomery County received a complaint on 10/26/2022 concerning mold growth on items and in unused areas and dates/product rotation.

Upon investigat­ion, most items were properly date labeled and within the expiration date (except the items listed above).

Per discussed with the person in charge, will check on sanitation condition of areas within the walk-in cooler at the next routine inspection.

Cassano’s Pizza and Subs

2405 S. Smithville Road, Dayton Date of inspection: Oct. 27 Violations: No manager level safety training certificat­e at time of inspection. PIC waiting on test results.

Observed drip from right side of three-compartmen­t sink’s drain pipe when sanitizer solution was drained to refill.

Observed debris under shelving along walls throughout facility. Recommend increase deep cleaning to preclude pests.

Observed evidence of droppings in corners and under equipment throughout facility. Observed dead rodent outside on sidewalk next to black box.

Comments: Ceiling tiles in bathrooms have been replaced with smooth, easily cleanable tiles.

Sanitation solution test strips available at time of inspection.

Facility has pest control out once per week to preclude pests.

Panera Bread 6550 Miller Lane, Dayton

Date of inspection: Oct. 28

Violations: Egg hot holding at 109F; sausage patty hot holding at 112F within the steam well. Egg and sausage voluntaril­y discarded.

Walk-in freezer door not closing properly — Ice accumulati­on observed on the door and gasket area — heating element component not working sufficient­ly. Repair or replace to restore heating element and freezer door function.

Buildup observed on the drawer handles of the salad prep top cooler. Staff cleaned the handle during the inspection.

Comments: Will check status of the walk-in freezer door/gasket/heating element at the next routine inspection.
