Library offers parentchild workspace
Woodbourne Library, a branch of Washington-Centerville Public Library, has added a family workstation to meet the growing needs of working parents and caregivers. The dual-desk design features a workspace for a parent or caregiver while the other side is a child-safe section with interactive learning panels to keep a young child engaged.
The desk was made possible with a generous grant from the Centerville Noon Optimist Club. Believed to be the first workstation of its kind in Montgomery County, it is located in the Children’s
Room at Woodbourne Library, 6060 Far Hills Avenue.
City Beautiful Spring Seminar on pollinators
The Centerville City Beautiful Commission’s Spring Seminar is back in 2023 to educate gardeners on best practices. Ohio State University Horticulture Educator Pam Corle-Bennett returns to the city of Centerville to share how to incorporate native plants into your landscape. Protecting our pollinators is important to our food sources as well as to plant diversity.
This presentation will focus on the basics of attracting pollinators to the landscape and incorporating native plants into your established landscape. The seminar is free on Saturday, April 15 beginning at 10 a.m. in the Cline Elementary School auditorium, 99 Virginia Avenue.
