Jefferson senior near one degree, headed to OSU
Samareya Igbinijesa is a Jefferson Twp. Jr./Sr. High senior attending the Miami Valley Career Technology Center (MVCTC). Samareya is one of Jefferson’s finest students. Before attending MVCTC, Samareya participated in Jefferson Township’s College Credit Plus (CCP) program through Sinclair Community College. Samareya’s current shortterm goal is to get her associate degree, which she will receive in May.
Samareya took her first college class at the age of 13 in seventh grade. Receiving her associate degree in liberal arts & sciences is very important to her because she has been working toward her degree for so long, and finally receiving it would mean that all her hard work had paid off. She has also received college credits from Clark State Community College.
Her long-term professional goal is to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She has wanted to become a nurse since she was in the sixth grade when she attended a career fair and
was able to deep-dive into the nursing field and loved it! In December of 2021, she took her State Tested Nursing Assistant exam and passed. The work and effort that led up to this showed her that it takes a lot of hard work and dedication to become a nurse. Samareya feels that she is ready to work toward this goal.
Samarya will be the 2023 class valedictorian at Jefferson Township Jr./Sr. High School with a 3.902 GPA. She has been a role model for her peers at the Jr/Sr High School and understands the importance of taking responsibility for her own education. Samareya has been accepted at The Ohio State University and will do great things in the future.
