MVHRA November Luncheon Nov. 14

The Miami Valley Human Resources Association (MVHRA) presents a legal update with Attorney Matt Bakota during its November luncheon from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sinclair Conference Center, 444 W. Third St., Dayton.

Mr. Bakota will discuss labor and employment legal updates, including government initiatives (EEOC, NLRB, etc.), “reverse” discrimination claims, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, attempts to prohibit non-compete agreements, union organizing issues, and more.

Navigate Morningstar at Library

Washington-Centerville Public Library will provide “Introduction to Morningstar” from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Centerville Library, 111 West Spring Valley Road. During the course, individuals will learn how to retrieve stock and mutual fund information and reports from the Morningstar website. Hands-on instruction will be provided on the Library’s laptops or personal laptops and tablets. The program is free, but registration is required to ensure adequate seating.

The ABCs and Ds of Medicare

Kate Johnsen of the Medicare Resource Center will present a program on the ABCs and Ds of Medicare from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Tipp City Public Library, 11 E. Main St., Tipp City.

The program offered through Tipp Monroe Community Services is free, but registration is required at tmcomservices.org. The program is an introduction to those new to Medicare. Information will be shared on the different parts of Medicare and how to make sure the coverage needed is obtained and penalties avoided.
