Bike, golf, health and wellness events keep going this winter
The city of Springboro Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) partners with the Franklin-Springboro Public Library to present the Next Destination Speaker Series that focuses on hiking and bicycling. Remaining presentations include:
Tuesday, March 5: Ruth Morley, The “Mature” Hiker’s Guide to Success on a Long Distance Trek;
Thursday, March 7: Mike Bisig from Mike’s Bike Park/ Bike Shop in Dayton & Beavercreek.

Become a ‘Sugar Detective’
The City of Springboro is partnering with Premier Health for a monthly speaker series. Sweet Surrender: Become a Sugar Detective is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20 at the Springboro Performing Arts Center. The average American consumes approximately 20 teaspoons of added sugar every day. During this presentation, you’ll learn the impact of excess sugar consumption on the body and how to minimize added sugars by reading labels and making healthier choices.
Each month, a different health and wellness topic will be covered, including those that affect older citizens. All presentations are free, open to the public and held at 11 a.m. the third Tuesday of each month at the Springboro Performing Arts Center, 115 Wright Station Way. Wellness program and treasure hunts continue
“Give us 10 or 30″ is our citywide Wellness Program. Just walk ten miles or bicycle 30 miles in one month then upload a snapshot of your achievement to our website and you’ll be eligible for terrific prizes! Visit ci.springboro.oh.us for details.
Residents are having a ball each month finding one of the five treasure bags hidden in various city parks. Each month has a different theme, and clues are posted on the City’s Facebook, X and Instagram pages for every hunt. Since May 2021, 175 bags have been found—each filled with fun treats.
