Area Progress Council announces Project Excellence Award recipients
The Area Progress Council of Warren County is marking its 37th year of its Project Excellence Award program that seeks to recognize and honor the excellent teachers in each public school district in the county.
The nonprofit organization solicits nominations to identify exceptional educators who demonstrate excellence in instruction or innovative teachers who have pioneered a teaching method. Some of the 2024 recipients have previously been recognized.
Recognized teachers include:
Carlisle Local Schools: Janice Truett and Kevin Witt, both from Carlisle Elementary School. Witt previously received the award in 2008.
Franklin City Schools: Holly Daniels of Franklin Junior High School; and Abby Michael of George H. Gerke Elementary School.
Greater Ohio Virtual School: Melanie Barnes.
Kings Local Schools: Jason Shields of Kings High School; and Cheryl Wanner of J.F. Burns Elementary School. Shields previously received the award in 1999 and in 2011 while Wanner received the award in 2012.
Lebanon City Schools: Kim Dillon of Lebanon High School and Lindsey Tepe of Bowman Primary School. Dillon previously received the award in 2016.
Little Miami Local Schools: Julia Lemmel of the Early Childhood Center;
and Jillian Ryan-Sanford of the Little Miami Primary School.
Mason City Schools: George Elias of Mason High School; and Danielle Peters of Mason Middle School.
Springboro Community City Schools: Tristan Morris of Springboro High School; and Andrew Sorrels of Springboro Junior High School.
Wayne Local Schools: Jan Durham and Carrie Peelle, both of Waynesville Elementary School.
Warren County Career Center: Kimberly Banks of the Atrium Campus.
Warren County Educational Service Center: Sue Myers of the Social Communications Program.
