ACCF awards library grant for tax help

-

PRESS RELEASE— The Adams County Community Foundation (ACCF) is pleased to announce that Adams Public Library System (APLS) in Decatur was recently awarded a grant for 2021 Tax Forms. In the past, State tax forms were provided by the state, but this year tax forms were not provided to libraries.

In addition to providing Federal and State tax forms, the Adams Public Library also partners with AARP to provide free access for tax assistance on Tuesdays, starting February 8 through March 29th, from 9am to 4pm. To receive this free access for tax assistance, you must schedule an appointment by calling the Decatur library at (260) 724-2605.

Additional Tax help is available at the Decatur Library in the form of Tax Instruction Booklets. Due to the limited number of booklets, they must be checked out at the service desks. For more information, contact reference staff in Decatur ( 260.724-2605) and Geneva (260.368-7270).

Andrea Busick, Adult Services Librarian, said that it is because of the generosity of the Adams County Community Foundation that we are able to continue providing state tax form distribution. Shelia Heimann added that we are extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve our community in the same way as before.

Louise Ray, ACCF Board member and grants committee co-chair added that the ACCF is pleased to provide this support to the APLS, Decatur. With this financial support, the APLS will be able to offer the same helpful tax services as was provided in the past.

The community enrichment fund that provided support for this grant came from:

Robert Eugene & Sandra Butcher Community Enrichment Fund. This fund is represents the Gene and Susie Butcher family. Married nearly 55 years, Gene and Susie have five children: Eugene, Verlin, Karen, Nancy, Melissa, and 25 great/grandchildren. They had a sincere appreciation for the community that helped raise their family and wish to provide an annual tribute to this community. This fund will provide an annual grant for programs that support youth, family, and community.
