2022 Carl Risch Fund
Zion Lutheran School recently sponsored an event for all students to invite their Very Important Person (VIP) to morning coffee and donuts and to tour their classrooms to see their art and science projects. Their event was hosted by the Zion Lutheran School and sponsored by one of the newest funds in the ACCF, the Carl Risch Shepherd Fund. This fund was established in recognition of Carl Risch’s 38+ years of loyal service to the Zion Lutheran Church and School.
Starting in 1984, Carl Risch began working with the Zion Lutheran Church and School as a teacher, and moved to administrative roles, agreeably filling in where needed to best serve the school and students. In addition, Carl continues to serve the church as the Minister of Music. He has served the congregation, parents, children, staff, and community in a variety of impressive positions.
Carl has dedicated 38 years as Zion’s 3rd and 4th grade teacher. Watching his students grow and mature, he can proudly report that he has taught multiple generations of students. This kind of history with families is nearly unheard of these days.
For years, Carl has served the community as a Bellmont and Zion track, basketball, and cross-country coach. For four decades, it has been common to see Carl running along the road most any time of day or any day of the week. It is safe to report that he has mentored and trained countless runners to enjoy this life-long therapy of running.
In sincere appreciation and gratitude, as Carl approaches retirement, it is the desire of the Zion Lutheran School Board of Education to set up a fund in the Adams County Community Foundation to honor Carl’s legacy. The Carl Risch Fund will continue to serve the needs of the Zion Lutheran students, staff, and school.
For those who wish to add to the Carl Risch Shepherd Fund, contributions can be sent to the ACCF or credit card contributions can be made on the ACCF website at: www.adamscountyfoundation.org
