ACCF awards a grant to Common Ground Church
The Adams County Community Foundation awarded a grant to Common Ground Church for Common Ground Youth Center Educational Televisions. The Common Ground Youth Center is an educational based program that provides opportunities for students to learn skills they can use now and as they transition into adulthood. Some of the skills taught include maintain a vehicle, gardening, culinary arts, 3D printing, and photoshop. The iPad purchased with the ACCF grant will assist in teaching more skills necessary for success.
Stephanie Simerman, Common Ground Youth Center Executive Director and grant writer, expressed appreciation to the ACCF for this support; which has provided an IPad for the Common Ground Youth Center. Audra Snyder, ACCF Board member and grants committee member noted that the ACCF is pleased to be able to support Common Ground Youth Center and their efforts to provide support for these expanded learning opportunities.
This ACCF grant was made possible through the Richard & Helen Conrad Community Enrichment fund.
Richard & Helen Conrad were members of the Salem Magley Church where Richard was a Deacon and Elder and Helen was a member of the Women’s Guild and Ladies Aide. Richard worked for Roy McNett Home Builders, was the co-owner of Custom Design Builders, was a concrete contractor and farmer. Helen was a homemaker and retired in 1995 after 45 years of service with Fort Wayne Wire Die. This fund was established by family as a tribute to these two special people that well-influenced their lives. This fund will provide an annual grant for programs that support youth, family, and community.
