Haight enters political landscape
Wesley Haight recently filed as a Republican for Berne City Council At-Large seat. Wes has resided in Berne for 23 years and is a father of two sons, Braxton and Jordan. Braxton is a Hartford City Police Officer and Jordan is a senior at South Adams High School.
Professionally, Haight has served the City of Berne as a law enforcement officer for 13 years. He served the town of Geneva three years previously in the same capacity.
During his tenure with the Berne Police Department, he served his department as an Indiana Law Enforcement Academy instructor, a member of the drug task force and school resource officer. He currently holds the rank of Sergeant.
Outside the workplace, Haighthas coached little league baseball, volunteered at numerous events and activities throughout the community, and attends The Bridge Community
Church in Berne. He is also a member of Drug Free Adams County, SAFE in Adams County, and serves as Executive Director of the Adams County Republican Central Committee.
Haight recently attended and completed a program designed to identify, train and equip emerging civic leaders with a heart for service and servant-leader character, called the Ambassador Institute for Civic Engagement. Being a strong conservative, requires Haight to be a good steward for the City of Berne, the state of Indiana and his country. For this reason, Haight has decided to run for Berne City Council and to work with local leaders on the continued effort to build a balanced and sustainable community that will last for many generations. Haight stated that he would be, “forever grateful and honored to serve if elected.”
