Berne mishap

The Berne Police Department responded to the scene of a two-vehicle crash at US 27 and Water Street at 2:20 p.m. Thursday.

Police said a vehicle driven by Delbert Keller, Berne, was westbound on Water Street and stopped for the intersection at US 27. He was preparing to turn south onto US 27 while another vehicle operated by Mary Swearingen, Uniondale, was southbound on US 27 and was attempting to turn east onto Water Street. As both vehicle started to turn, they collided in the intersection with damage estimated at between $5,000-$10,000. Neither driver complained of injuries from the crash.
