While we’re talking kits, let’s check out a pair of Ford pickups from AMT. The 1934 kit is a 3-in-1, so it can be built stock; as a service truck; or as a custom with special wheels, exhaust stacks, and a completely separate

accessories, plus an expanded decal sheet. It all comes in AMT’s “Retro Deluxe” vintage-style packaging, marking more than 50 years since this kit was first introduced.

The Lightning version of the F-150 gets retro-style packaging too, although it doesn’t trace back quite as far as the ’34! The kit also gets an expanded decal sheet, plus the truck’s oversized tires on proper teardrop slotted wheels, bucket seats, a deep front air dam, and an opening hood to show off the unique version of the 351 Windsor, with its special SVT tubular intake manifold and high-flow GT40 heads that made 240hp—more than the Mustang Cobra got that year!

1969 Camaros are not normally considered subtle. Big sport stripes, option code designations, and engine call-outs usually advertised loudly exactly what you were up against. But some of the most potent ’69s came through the COPO program, and when that happened, some seriously heavy-hitting hardware could come in a plain brown wrapper—or in this case, a Glacier Blue wrapper. WhiteBox’s Camaro has no fancy stripes or “Z/28” or “SS” badging. It wears plain steel wheels with dog-dish hubcaps. So no one would expect a fire-breathing 427 under that unassuming hood! We’ve come to expect good bang for the buck with WhiteBox models in any scale, and this model looks nicely appointed for its price point. We like the color choice too.
