McLaren was founded as a race car manufacturer, and its road cars have never strayed far from that competition heritage. With the 2011 introduction of the MP4-12C, the company propelled itself into the elite supercar ranks—on the track in the GT3 class with the 650S, and the road-going version culminated in 2017 with the 675LT even as a new generation McLaren was introduced.
The 650S proved fast and durable enough to take the win at Australia’s grueling Bathurst 12-Hour, the modern incarnation of the legendary Bathurst 1000 endurance race held at the brutal Mount Panorama circuit. In street tune the lightweight track-focused 675LT it makes 675 horsepower, giving the car both its name and its startling performance. The new 570S is set up to be a somewhat more practical exotic, with more creature comforts, tamer suspension tuning, more cargo space, and “only” 570hp. AUTOart has become the de facto authority for McLaren in diecast, and they have produced literally dozens of variations starting with the original MP12-4C. They currently manufacture several versions of the 650S GT3 racer, including the Meguiar’sand Motul-sponsored number 59A Bathurst winner, as well as road-going 675LTs and most recently the 570S.
Each features magnetically retained scissor-style doors that open to reveal a fully detailed interior. Each has highly authentic wheels, tires and brakes too, and the road cars feature opening engine bays. Several colors of each are offered, but we definitely prefer variations of the classic McLaren Orange!
