two women wounded happened about 9:30 p.m. Friday in the 1700 block of 65th Avenue.

The man, an Oakland resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

A 26 - year- old Sacramento woman who was wounded was taken to a hospital. A 22- year- old Oakland woman who also was wounded got her own transporta­tion to a hospital. They were both in stable condition. Police have not said if the man and women knew each other.

Police believe more than one suspect was involved in the shooting. A motive has not been released yet and no arrests have been announced.

About 10:40 p. m. Friday, a 49- year- old man was found shot in the 9700 block of Edes Avenue near a gas station and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The man’s name has not been released. Police believe he is an Oakland resident.

Other people were hanging out in the area when the shooting happened, but no other injuries were reported, authoritie­s said. A motive has not been released yet for the killing and no arrests have been made.

With the two killings, Oakland police have now investigat­ed 75 homicides this year. Last year at this time, police had investigat­ed 56 homicides in the city.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $20,000 in reward money in the 65th Avenue shooting and up to $10,000 in the Edes Avenue shooting for informatio­n leading to the arrests of the suspects.
