James Thomas Crain, longtime resident of Pleasant Hill, California, passed away on December 3rd, 2020 in Searcy Arkansas. James was born in Rosston, Arkansas on Nov. 7, 1941 to James M and Mildred L (Atkins) Crain.

Jim grew up and lived in the Tara Hills area and attended De Anza High School.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, JoJean (Pennington) Crain of Pleasant Hill, CA. He is survived by his two brothers, Robert and Edward Crain and one brother Albert, who proceeded him in death. He is survived by his 3 children, Rodney Crain, Penny (Crain) Hurwitz and Gary Crain. He is survived by his 9 Grandchild­ren. He is also survived by his 18 Great-Grandchild­ren, including Khloe who proceeded him in death.

James was a successful Insurance Agent and had thousands of clients and was a Top Producer for Farmers Insurance and the National Life Insurance Companies. James achieved great success in the Insurance Industry winning numerous awards. He also helped his family and friends enter the Insurance Business.

James gave his heart and life to his Savior Jesus Christ when he was very young. He was a faithful member of the Landmark Missionary Baptist Church his entire life. He was active in his church as an Ordained Deacon, Teacher and Treasurer for many years. James read his Bible every day and he loved the Lord with all his heart. Because of his strong faith in the Lord, he did not fear death.

James loved dominoes, chess, checkers, traveling, camping, fishing, golf, baseball (The Giants) and hunting. He would spend his time with his family and friends doing these activities. Though he traveled to many foreign countries, his favorite place was June Lake, California.

James, who went by Jim, had a great sense of humor and considered himself an “Arkie.” He always wanted to move back to Arkansas where his family is from and was able to spend the last days of his life in Arkansas.

He will be greatly missed by his family, loved ones, numerous friends, and clients who all regard him as a good Christian man who was not perfect, but tried to live his faith as he believed it.
