Arizona 0-8, 0-5

Kickoff: Noon at Arizona Stadium, Tucson, Arizona

Series history: Arizona leads 18-14-2 and has won the past five meetings, including 24-17 in 2018, their most recent matchup. Cal hasn’t won in the series since a 24-16 victory at Berkeley in 2009. Cal hasn’t won at Tucson since 2004, when Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdowns in a 38-0 triumph.

Cal storylines: The Bears take a two-game win streak to Arizona, still needing three wins in their final four games to earn bowl eligibility. Cal is coming off its best all-around game of the season, a 39-25 win over Oregon State in which the offense generated 517 yards — its highest total vs. an FBS opponent in 31 games, dating to Oct. 20, 2018, when the Bears had 539 yards in a 49-7 win over Oregon State .

. . Outside linebacker Cameron Goode, Cal’s best defensive player, sat out last week’s game with an undisclosed injury but is “likely” to play today, according to coach Justin Wilcox . . . The Bears announced Thursday that “multiple” players had tested positive for coronavirus and would miss the game . . . Starting left tackle Will Craig is doubtful and the Bears will play the rest of the season without sophomore Brian Driscoll, their backup at both guard spots and center, sidelined by an upper-body injury.

Arizona storylines: The Wildcats have lost 20 straight games — a Pac-12 record — but have come close a couple times recently under first-year coach Jedd Fisch. They led 13-0 at halftime against Washington two weeks ago before losing 21-16, and rallied from a three-touchdown deficit at USC last week, falling 41-34 . . . Second-year freshman quarterback Will Plummer is coming off his best performance, a 264-yard passing effort at USC. He avoided turnovers and ran for a touchdown as the Wildcats piled up a season-best 466 yards . . . Defensive lineman Mo Diallo, who leads the team with 7.5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks, is questionable after being injured at USC.
