They’re ‘Almost Famous’

Say the words “Almost Famous” and most people will immediately think of the great Cameron Crowe music film released in 2000.

Yet that could soon change — at least in the Bay Area — as people get the chance to experience the Almost Famous Wine Lounge in Livermore.

The 200-person-capacity club will be pairing offerings from the Darcie Kent Estate Winery with live music Thursdays-Saturdays. (The Lounge is also open on Sundays, but closed MondaysWednesdays.) And while performers on the venue’s lineup may be well-established locally, most match the wine offerings in that they are arguably

. singer-songwriter Roem Baur (tonight), Grammynominated zydeco artist Andre Thierry (Friday), classic-rockers Idlewild (Saturday), singer-songwriter Shana Morrison (Feb. 12) blues-soul singer Tia Carroll (Feb. 19), and more.

Details: 2271 S. Vasco Road, Suite D; music starts 6 p.m. Thursdays, 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday; admission is free-$15; almostfamouswine. com.
