Eminem, Parton among nominees
Hip-hop star Eminem, country music legend Dolly Parton, R&B-pop icon Lionel Richie and ’80s new wave titans Duran Duran are among the latest batch of nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The other 13 acts vying for spots in the Rock Hall are: Beck, Pat Benatar, Kate Bush, Devo, the Eurythmics, Judas Priest, Fela Kuti, MC5, New York Dolls, Rage Against the Machine, Carly Simon, A Tribe Called Quest and Dionne Warwick.
Typically, the Rock Hall admits about a half-dozen performing acts each year.
So, it will be interesting to see who will make the cut, and who won’t, after the final votes are tallied and the 2022 inductees are announced.
Fans will once again have a say in who gets enshrined at the legendary Rock Hall in Cleveland. Fans can vote each day through April 30 and the top five vote-getters, as selected by the public, will each receive a special “fans’ ballot” that will be counted in among the other ballots from the regular Rock Hall voters.

There are a goodly amount of newcomers to be found on this list, with seven of the 17 nominees making the ballot for the first time. These first-timers are Richie, Duran Duran, Beck, Parton, Simon, A Tribe Called Quest and Eminem.
The latter is the only one who is being nominated in his first year of eligibility. And it very well could be the last time he’s nominated, since Eminem — one of the most successful hip-hop artists of all time — appears to be a heavy favorite to be inducted in 2022.
Acts become eligible for induction 25 years after they released their first record.
After Eminem, voters could go in a lot of different directions when it comes to deciding among the other 16 nominees. We’re forecasting that the other five most likely to make the cut are Rage Against the Machine, Benatar, Parton, Richie and Duran Duran.
