The Clayton Valley Charter boys basketball team, ranked fifth by Bay Area News Group, would have secured at least a share of the Diablo Athletic League Foothill Division crown with a win Tuesday night against visiting Las Lomas.

Instead, No. 20 Las Lomas rolled to a 62-47 victory.

Jake Davis scored 31 points and Jack Halpin added 12 points for Las Lomas (16-9, 8-3 DAL).

Elijah Perryman had 21 points for Clayton Valley (21-4, 9-2).

It was another impressive win for Las Lomas, which beat defending DAL Foothill champ Campolindo 59-39 last Thursday.

“We're starting to find ways to win,” Las Lomas coach Sly Hunter said. “If it's not through offense, it's through the defense. Our key has been the full-court pressure.”

Hunter is looking forward to starting the North Coast Section playoffs next week. Las Lomas will be in Division II.

“We're going to be a tough team,” Hunter said. “We're battle-tested and we're road tested. We had no home games in nonleague play.”
