Police arrested a prisoner at San Quentin and brought him to Alameda County jail in connection with a 2020 homicide that authorities say occurred during a gun sale, court records show.

Reggie Morris, 24, joins 25-year-old Johnnie KellySanders on a criminal complaint charging them with murder, attempted murder and shooting at an occupied vehicle. The charges stem from a Dec. 7, 2020 shooting near Green Acre Road and MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland, which both Morris and KellySanders allegedly blamed on a third suspect who wasn't charged.

Morris was serving an unrelated robbery sentence when he was charged last month. KellySanders was arrested and charged in 2021.

Police say that surveillance footage shows both defendants firing at 26-yearold Parrish Anderson, who was killed, and a 22-yearold Stockton man, who survived being shot in the chest.

The two defendants allegedly traveled with a third man to meet Anderson and the 22-year-old man to purchase an assault rifle.

During the transaction, the two are seen on surveillance footage obtaining the rifle, securing it in their car, then pulling out guns and firing at the victims, according to police. During questioning, both men allegedly told police that their companion was the lone shooter and that they were innocent, according to court records.

Police say their statements were contradicted by the video. Morris allegedly also told officers that he felt they were being set up for a robbery shortly before the gunfire started.

Both men are being held without bail and do not yet have a trial date, court records show.
