Lady Bucks pick up victory

SMACKOVER — Freshman Ava Walker struck out nine Tuesday to pitch Smackover to a 9-5 win over McGehee. The Lady Bucks improved to 12-5 overall and 9-2 in 3A 8 action. The Lady Owls fell to 5-7, 4-5.

Walker pitched seven innings, allowing two hits and two walks.

Smackover had nine hits with Gretchen Goodwin going 3-for-4. Presley Ainsworth was 2-for-2 with three walks. Emily Camacho had two hits and scored four runs.

The Lady Bucks led 4-3 before scoring three in the sixth. A'Olani Baugus reached on a dropped third strike. Camacho singled and Ainsworth walked. A run scored when Julia James' fly ball was misplayed. Abby Brewer drove in a run with a single.

Walker had a RBI single in the seventh. Ainsworth doubled and scored in the third.

Smackover will pick up its rain-halted game with DeWitt in the seventh inning on Friday, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in Smackover.

RISON 15, PARKERS CHAPEL 10

RISON — Rison scored 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and rallied for a league win over the Lady Trojans on Tuesday. Parkers Chapel fell to 2-3 in 2A 8 play while the Lady Wildcats improved to 3-1.

The Lady Trojans had 11 hits, led by Tatum Watson, who was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. McKenzie Norris had two hits, including a triple. Krista Rivers was 2-for-3 with a double.

Parkers Chapel scored nine runs in the top of the sixth, sending 12 batters to the plate, to take a 10-5 advantage. Watson singled and Rivers doubled before a two-run double by Addalyn Adams. Reaux McAuliffe doubled home a run. Brookelynn Porter's fly ball was misplayed and Madison Arnold drove in a run with a sacrifice fly. Norris stroked a two-out, RBI triple and then scored on a passed ball. Bella Frisby walked and Makenzie Morgan singled. Frisby scored on the throw.

Watson doubled in a run, stole third and stole home.

Rison answered with a 10-spot in the bottom of the sixth on five walks, one hit batter and five hits. Rhagen Price had a three-run double.

Carlee Cater pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing five runs on three hits with four walks. Norris pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowing 10 runs on seven hits with six walks.

TEXARKANA 11, EL DORADO 0 The Lady Razorbacks shut out El Dorado on just two hits in 5A South action on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats fell to 3-9 while Texarkana improved to 8-3 in conference.

Ava Whisnant and Alysa Wilson accounted for El Dorado's hits.

Texarkana had 10 hits with Aniya Arnold going 2-for-3 with a homer and three RBI. Taylor Pascarello had two hits and drove in three runs.
