• New Providence Baptist Church (Norphlet): The annual Youth Day celebratio­n will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Special guests will be the Rev. Roy Aaron and the congregati­on of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church of Camden. Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend this annual celebratio­n.

• Morning Star Baptist Church: Spring Revival services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday and at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at the church, located at 2506 College at its intersecti­on with 19th St. Special guests on Sunday will be the Rev. Frankie Mitchell and the congregati­on of Haynes Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Hope. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. The evangelist for the Tuesday through Thursday services will be Dr. Kevin A. Kelly, pastor of Second Baptist Church of Little Rock. • Free Union A.M.E. Church: Family and Friends Day will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, located at 3349 Strong Highway.The theme will be “What shall we then say to these things?If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31. The praise and worship leader will be Beverly M. Hawkins. Selections will be offered by New Grace Divine Destiny, St. John A.M.E. of Fordyce, White Springs A.M.E. of Bearden, praise dance by the Williams Family, and special guests the Spiritual Jubilees and the Spiritual Wonders. The speaker will be the Rev. Kent J. Broughton, presiding elder of the Camden-El Dorado District. Guest churches will be St. John A.M.E. of Fordyce, White Springs of Bearden, New Grace Divine Destiny, Greater Lee Chapel, St. Paul A.M.E., Olive Light, Pleasant Hill A.M.E., the Spiritual Jubilees and the Spiritual Wonders. Lunch will be served around 1:30 p.m.

• Evergreen Baptist Church (Randolph, La.): Youth Day will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. Special guests will be Pastor Adrian Nelson and the congregati­on of Woodlawn Baptist Church of Farmervill­e, La. The mistress of ceremonies will be Debra Dancy. The church will also conduct Spring Revival services at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday at the church. The speaker will be Minister Quincy Knox of New Hopewell Baptist Church.

• Union A.M.E. Church (Mt. Holly): The church will celebrate its anniversar­y at 2:30 p.m. on April 19. Special guests will be the Rev. Roy Aaron and the congregati­on of St. James Baptist Church of El Dorado. The public is invited to attend.

• Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church: A barbecue plate fundraiser will be held at noon Sunday at the church. Each plate will cost $10 and will include barbecue, bread, beans, potato salad, special sauce and a cupcake. Drinks (coffee, tea, water) will be included for those dining in. A drive-through pickup will be available. All proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward a Honduras mission trip July 11-18.

• Willow Grove Missionary

Baptist Church (Calion): A Musician’s Appreciati­on Program for Verda Traylor will be held at 6 p.m. today at the church, located at 471 Mill St. Area choirs and soloists scheduled to perform are Greater New Jerusalem and Christ Missionary Baptist Church of El Dorado, God’s Helping Hands Ministry of El Dorado, the C.W. Gospel Singers of El Dorado, St. Luke Baptist Church of Calion, Pamella Marshall of Calion, Jerusalem Quinn Baptist Church of El Dorado, Little Bethel Baptist Church of El Dorado, Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Banks, Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Jersey, and the Rev. Alvin Carson of Fordyce.

• Greater New Jerusalem Christ Missionary Baptist Church: A community meeting will be held at 10 a.m. today at the church, located at 1400 N. Gray St., to discuss ways to help in the area of increasing funeral costs. According to the Rev. R. Cunningham, “many of our elderly residents have faithfully paid for burial insurance for years only to find out at their death that it hardly covers the cost of the casket. My concern is what can we do as neighborho­od leaders to prevent this from happening to you or one of your loved ones. We hope to see all religious leaders and lay people who are concerned to be at this meeting.”

• Mt. Union Baptist Church: A Gospel Singing Fish Fry Fundraiser will be held today at the church, located at 653 Mt. Union Road. Meal hours will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m.. Donations for the meal are $10 for adults 12 years of age and over, $7 for children ages 5-11, and no charge for children 4 years of age and under. Plates will include fish, french fries, beans, coleslaw, hushpuppie­s, tea, soffee and dessert. Call-in orders are welcome by calling (870) 862-0085 and (870) 918-4115. Music will begin at 5 p.m. and will feature Back Forty, Joyful Spirit and Adam Hill. Funds raised will support the Mt. Union mission trip to Honduras.

• Jerusalem Quinn Baptist Church: The church, located at 643 Quinn Road, will celebrate its 113th anniversar­y at 3 p.m. Sunday. Special guests will be the Rev. T.G. Shelton and the congregati­on of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church of Pine Bluff. The public is invited to attend.

• Curry Chapel A.M.E. Church (Strong): A banquet honoring senior citizens 62 years of age and older will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the church, located at 250 F St. A special tribute will be presented in memory of Yvonne Hamilton. Tickets are $10 and can be bought from lay persons of Curry or at the door. On Sunday, the church will celebrate its anniversar­y at 3 p.m. Special guests will be the Rev. Michael Singleton and Christ Centered Ministry of Farmervill­e, La. The public is invited to “join us in praising God for another blessed year.” Also, the Abundance of Love Charity Concert Choir will present “Songs of Praise” at 6 p.m. April 18 at the church. Special guests will include the Psalm of Life Memorial Choir, the Ford Brothers, Frankie Andrews and the Concert Choir, Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and many more. The public is invited to attend.

• Free Hope A.M.E. Church: Women’s Day will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. April 26 at the church. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Gayle Williams, and the guest church will be Pleasant Hill A.M.E. Church. All women are invited to attend.

• Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church (Strong): The annual Youth Day celebratio­n will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church, located at 600 Ebenezer Road. The guest speaker will be the Rev. Orlando Smith of County Line Missionary Baptist Church of Spearsvill­e, La., and the mistress of ceremonies will be Da’Breanna Roy. The church will also conduct revival services at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The evangelist for the services will be the Rev. Roy C. Aaron of First St. James Baptist Church in El Dorado. Guest churches will be First Baptist Huttig, Bethlehem Baptist and Batts Chapel Baptist will William Morgan serving as master of ceremonies on Monday; Shilo Baptist, Mt. Zion Urbana, First Baptist Felsenthal and Curry Chapel with Ja’Derrick Moody serving as master of ceremonies on Tuesday; and First St. James Baptist Church with Davante’ Henry serving as master of ceremonies on Wednesday.

• Living Word Ministry (Strong):

A “Prayer & Brunch” will be held at 9 a.m. today at the church, located t 1009 Rear W. First St. The speaker will be Minister Nita Johnson of El Dorado. The public is invited to attend.

• First Baptist Church (Huttig):

The annual Prayer Luncheon will be held from 10 a.m. until noon today at the church. The guest speaker will be Minister Earlene Burns of Push Ministry of El Dorado, and the theme will be “Pray, Pray, Pray” from Proverbs 14:1. Lunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall, and the public is invited to attend. The church will hold its annual Women’s Day program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be Minister P.J. Yarbrough of Changing Life Ministry of El Dorado, and the theme will be “A Wise Woman” from Proverbs 14:1. The First Baptist Praise Team will perform at both events and white attire is requested but not required at both events. The public is invited to attend.

• First Apostolic Church: A musical program will be presented at 6:30 p.m. April 18 at the church, locaetd at 215 American Road. Featured groups will include The Shutes Sisters, Beulah Grove Wesson, Union Mission, Free Hope and many more. The public is invited to “come out and worship with us.”

• Fellowship Baptist Church (Lillie, La.): Family and Friends Day will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the church. The guest choir will be Rejoice.

• Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church: The church, located at 1807 S. West Ave., will celebrate its anniversar­y at 2:30 p.m. April 19. Special guests will be the Rev. Lacy Miles and the congregati­on of First Baptist Calhoun Heights of Magnolia. The public is invited to attend.

• Canaan Baptist Church (Spearsvill­e): A cemetery work day will be held beginning at 8:30 a.m. today at the church. Those who attend are asked to bring rakes and other yard tools. In case of rain, the work day will be canceled until a later date. Lunch will be served.
