Whitney Frazier receives accolade

RUSTON - Louisiana Tech senior Whitney Frazier earned first team all-state honors while junior Brandi Wingate was named the state Newcomer of the Year on the 2015 Louisiana Sports Writers Associatio­n All-Louisiana Women's College Basketball team released late Saturday night.

Lady Techster senior Kelia Shelton was named third team all-state.

Frazier for the Lady Techsters was a firstteam All-Conference USA choice with averages of 14.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game. Frazier made 99 consecutiv­e starts to end her collegiate career and shot 49 percent from field, 69 percent from the free throw line and 7-of-29 from the three-point line this season. She Scored in double figures 23 times and recorded five double doubles. She is one of only 14 players in LA Tech history to score at least 1,500 points and grab at least 800 rebounds.

Glow Run event will

be held June 6th

The Glow For Children's 5K is scheduled to take place June 6 at the El Dorado Fairground­s.

The race is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. and conclude at 11:55 p.m. For persons 13 and older, the entry fee is $35. For youth participan­ts, the enrollemen­t fee is $15. Children under six who partake in the event can do so free of charge. But, they will not receive a t-shirt. Registrati­on the day of the event is $45.

All persons who register by May 16 are guaranteed a t-shirt. The proceeds from the race benefit Arkansas Childrens Hospital.

Festival City Shootout

to be held in May

The Festival City Shootout will be held on May 30-31 in El Dorado.

Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. with games starting at 9 a.m. Teams will have a three-game guarantee.

Baseball players can sign up for UCSBR

Registrati­on for the Union County Senior Babe Ruth baseball league has begun and will continue until May 1st.

Players must be 16-19 years of age. Individual­s who are 19 must turn 19-years old in 2015.
