Shooting leaves two men injured
EL DORADO — A shooting early Thursday morning left two men wounded, and one of them remained in a Little Rock hospital Friday with serious injuries.
Details remained sparse late Friday afternoon about the shooting that occurred at 627 Champagnolle Road.
El Dorado police did not publicly release the information they had gathered, including the names of the victims, citing an ongoing probe into the incident and pending notification of family members.
Capt. Kevin Holt, public information officer for the El Dorado Police Department, said a 27-yearold man sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Medical Center of South Arkansas.
The victim was later transferred to the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for further treatment.
A second man, 31, was treated for non-life threatening injuries and released from MCSA, Holt said.
Officers responded at 1 a.m. Thursday to a report of a shooting at the Champagnolle residence. Upon arrival, they found two men with apparent gunshot wounds.
Holt declined to release any further information about the men’s injuries.
He said investigators had not yet established a motive or identified a suspect in the shooting.
“We're still processing evidence, still interviewing witnesses, talking to neighbors and still following up with the victims,” Holt said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is urged to call 870-881-4810 or 870863-INFO (4636).
