In the Churches

• Bouldware Temple C.O.G.I.C.: All are invited to Baby Day Services at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, at the church located at 1521 Detroit St. in El Dorado. Superintendent Kelly Owens is pastor.

• Curry Chapel A.M.E. Church: The annual homecoming will be Sept. 4 with guests, the Rev. Aluster Hamilton and members of the Church of Love from El Dorado. Lunch will be served. Revival will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 6-8. Evangelist will be the Rev. Charlene Boone, Pastor of Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church in Pine Bluff. The public is invited to join in praise and worship.

• Divine Faith F.G.B.C.: Church anniversary will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church where the Rev. Christopher Howard is overseer. Revival will be held at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. Bishop Dr. G. Calloway Jr., evangelist, will be the guest. The public is invited to attend.

• Faith in the World Christian

Center: All are invited to a night of gospel music at the church at 1310 Detroit St. in El Dorado at 6:30 p.m. today. Various groups will perform. Any choirs, soloists and groups are invited to be a part of the celebration. For Pastor Erma Jackson’s anniversary, Pastor Marilyn Frazier and Evergreen Ministries International will be guests at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. Dinner will be served at 1:30 p.m.

• First Baptist Church: Men and Women Day will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 4 at the church at 404 Martin Luther King St. in Smackover. The Rev. Calvin L. Carroll is pastor. Guest pastor and church are the

Rev. Roy Williams and Macedonia Baptist Church in Camden. Everyone is invited. Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

• Freewill Baptist Church: The church anniversary will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the church, located at 1320 E. Faulkner in El Dorado, where Alvin McGhee is pastor. Guest pastor and congregation will be Pastor Leon Miller and Little Bethel Baptist Church. Lunch will be served.

• Greater Powerhouse of Deliverance: The first annual pastor appreciation service honoring Bishop Polly Jones will have a pre-service at 7 p.m. today. Speaker will be Bishop Lonnie Aaron of Little Rock. Services will be at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 28 with speaker Bishop Michael Newell from Laurel, Miss. The church is located at 1131 W. 19th in El Dorado.

• Morning Star M.B.C. No. 2:

The church will have homecoming at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. The special guest will be the Rev. Luther Harris and Beulah Grove M.B.C. Dinner will be served from 1-2 p.m. Homecoming revival will be held at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday. The guest evangelist will be the Rev. Lloyd Wayne Scott of Eastern Star M.B.C. of Port Arthur, Texas. Guest choir for Monday will be New Providence M.B.C., Zion Watt M.B.C. on Tuesday and Good Home M.B.C. on Wednesday. A meal will be served following the service on Wednesday.

• Mount Zion Baptist Church:

The church in Urbana, where the Rev. B.E. Artis is pastor, will have their annual homecoming day on Sunday. Morning speaker will be the Rev. Felton Bention of Desoto, Texas, formerly of Urbana, pastor of Agape Fellowship Christian Center. Homecoming hour will be at 3 p.m. The homecoming speaker will be the Rev. W.T. Ward, pastor of the First Baptist Church in Huttig. Revival services will begin on Monday through Friday, and the Rev. Roy Aaron Jr. will be the evangelist. Everyone is invited to come and worship.

•New Beginnings Family Ministries: The Ninth Annual Church Anniversary will be celebrated at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the church at 1201 Marrable Hill Road in El Dorado. Guest church will be Bethel A.M.E. Church from Camden with guest speaker the Rev. Andrew Banks. Dinner will be served at 1 p.m.

• Saint Vestal C.M.E. Church:

Pastor Fannie Washington and sponsor, the Rev. George Washington appreciation will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the church, located at 1001 N. West Ave. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Joseph Waller and his congregation of New Life Deliverance and Worship Center, located at 8389 Junction City Highway. The public is invited to attend.

• Sweet Canaan Baptist Church:

The church at 4877 Mount Holly Road in Smackover, where the Rev. Anthony J. Traylor is pastor, will celebrate their homecoming at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Lunch will be served at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Robert Harris and Salem Baptist Church will be the guests.
