-

News-Times Staff FOUKE - In the last two weeks, Smackover has used a powerful running attack to dispatch Harding Academy and Fountain Lake.

On Friday night, the Bucks got great production from their passing attack, as Beau Burson went 7-of-9 passing for 209 yards and two touchdowns to lead Smackover past Fouke 46-0 in their 6-3A opener on Friday night.

Burson got his big night started by tossing a 92-yard touchdown pass to Corbin Lee, and the senior quarterback made the two-point conversion successful by connecting with Dorsey Williams.

Smackover (3-1, 1-0) extended their lead thanks to a pair of touchdown runs. Damarous White found the end zone on a 4-yard run with 7:58 left in the half, and Burson carried in the two-point conversion to make it 16-0.

After catching a touchdown pass in the first quarter, Lee scored on a 4-yard run with 2:58 left in the half, and Tyrek Rucks ran in the two-point conversion to give the Bucks a 24-0 lead at intermission.

The Bucks then went back to the air to start the second half, as Burson threw a 48-yard strike to Williams, and Lee's twopoint conversion pushed the lead to 32-0.

The Bucks led by the same score after three periods, but wasted little time in extending their lead in the final stanza.

Michael Edwards, who had 157 yards on 20 carries, scored on a 15-yard run that made it 39-0 after Omari Wilbourn's extra point.

Tyler Earnest put the exclamation point on the win by racing 67 yards for a touchdown, and Tyler Hatcher's extra point made the final margin.

Lee added 34 yards and a touchdown on six carries for the Bucks, while Peyton Jones caught two passes for 43 yards in the contest.

Overall, the Bucks had 485 yards of total offense, including 276 yards on the ground.

Fouke (2-0, 0-1) was limited to just 178 yards of total offense.
