Annual Civitan Auction scheduled for Monday

EL DORADO — Rounds of golf at Mystic Creek Golf Course, installed garage door opener, tires, weed eaters, watches, deep fryer, two hours of tree trimming, a bracelet, a recliner and numerous other items, expected to bring in around $14,000, will be up for auction during the 60th annual El Dorado Civitan TV Auction set to begin at 6 p.m. on Monday.

Mike Dumas, chair of the annual Civitan Auction, said over 140 items will be up for auction this year – everything from gift certificat­es, to flowers, jewelry, contracts for pest control and furniture – and will be sold to the highest bidder. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the South Arkansas Developmen­tal Center for Children and Families.

The auction is conducted every year at Immanuel Baptist Church in El Dorado and Dumas said the auction can be accessed on broadcast channel 5 and cable channel 14 and will begin at 6 p.m. and continue until all items are sold. Auction gold sponsors are First Financial Bank, Young’s Funeral Directors of Distinctio­n and Les Chandler Agency and blue sponsor is Evers Cox and Gober CPA. White sponsors are Teague Auto Group and Southern Bancorp Bank.

Items already donated for this year’s auction include: Mystic Creek Golf Course, round of golf for four valued at $300; an overhead garage door operator installed by El Dorado Glass, valued at $430; five yards of concrete by Apex Concrete, valued at $400; a tire/service gift certificat­e from Van Hook Tire Center, valued at $500; a commercial weed eater valued at $325 donated by United Industrial Supply EFCO; a unisex stainless steel watch valued at $345 donated by Murphy Pitard Jewelers;

A one-year pest control agreement from Terminix of El Dorado, valued at $449; a four-gallon deep fryer valued at $315 from Glenn Mechanical; two laminated beams valued at $300, donated by Anthony Forest Products; two hours of tree trimming valued at $ 300, donated by Treo Tree Trimming Service; a set of Nexen tires, any size, valued at $500, Joe’s Tire Service; four yards of concrete, delivered, valued at $455 from Concrete Service Co.;
