Christian Miller, kindergart­en winner of the coloring contest, is a student at Junction City Elementary. He is the son of Christophe­r and Kayla Miller. He enjoys playing video games with his monster trucks and likes to go out to eat with his family at Applebees! He is a student in Tina Burroughs’ class. See his winning art on page 1.

Caleb Digby is a first grade student at Yocum Primary and winner of the first grade coloring contest. He is the son of Jack and Lisa Digby. He enjoys attending church on Wednesday nights.

"After school, I like to do my homework, read and play games. On weekends, I play with my toys, rearrange my room, draw, watch television and play games on the RCA laptop," he explained.

His classroom teacher is Kim Ibert and he is an art student with Janice Roscoe. His winning art is on page 1.

Isabella Estabrook, winner of the recipe contest, is a second grade student at Norphlet Elementary. She is the daughter of Robert and Lisa Lucy of Norphlet. Her hobbies include playing with her dog Armis after school, playing with her sisters Dakota, Jasmine, Cadence and Cierra. She loves to dance and really likes makeup. She is a student in Cynthia Coleman's class. See her winning recipe on page 2.

Armania Harper, third grade student at Yocum Elementary, is the winner of the weather drawing contest. She is the daughter of Latoya and Antonio Harper.

"When I get home from school, I like to finish my homework and play on my phone," she explained.

On weekends, she enjoys watching her brother's basketball games, riding her bicycle, drawing and painting.

She is a student of Gabrielle Williams and her art teacher is Janice Roscoe.

Sophia Webb, winner of the favorite game or phone app essay contest, is a fourth grade student at Hugh Goodwin Elementary. She is the daughter of Tela and Chris Webb. She enjoys playing soccer and ballet and playing with her pets, especially her dog Genevieve. On weekends, she likes to read Harry Potter books and play outside and is a member of Camp Fire Girls Troop 62. A student of Stephanie Lowrey and Margaret Cupp, her winning essay can be seen on page 6.

Sam Wylie, a seventh grader at West Side Christian School, is the winner of the design-an-ad contest. He is the son of Phillip and Jennifer Wylie of El Dorado. In his free time, he enjoys playing and watching basketball, playing NBA 2K, eating Ramen noodles and sleeping. He is an art student in Kimberly Evans' class and his winning ad may be seen on page 5.

Avery Anderson is an eighth grade student at Junction City High School and is the winner of the hero essay contest. The daughter of Larry and Brandi Wallace, she explained that "I enjoy my time off on the weekends. I like to sleep late and hang out with friends and family."

She's a member of the JCJH cheerleadi­ng squad and quiz bowl team and attends Three Creeks Baptist Church.

She is a student of Melissa Pratt and her essay may be seen on page 12.

Hannah Miller is a 10th grade student at West Side Christian School and is the winner of the improving El Dorado and Union County essay contest. She is the daughter of Randall and Cindy Miller. She enjoys reading, playing piano, spending time with family and friends, playing with her dogs and listening to music in her free time and plays basketball and track. She is a secretary of Student Council, president of the National Junior Honor Society and keyboard player for the praise band and youth choir. She is a student of Cindy Miller, and her essay may be seen above.
