Speakers Circuit: Extension agent to visit TOUCH
Shaneil “PJ” Yarbrough, will be the guest speaker when the Rotary Club meets at noon on Monday at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
She is involved in both community service and ministry. She is an active member of her local church, volunteers time to mentor girls, often speaks to both youth and women’s ministries and is a keynote speaker and presenter for early childhood education conferences.
Yarbrough has dedicated nearly 20 years to working in the capacities of elementary school teacher, preschool administrator and early childhood education specialist.
She is the newly appointed executive director and administrator of Agape House Children’s Home, Inc. a non-profit group foster home serving foster children in and around Union County that are unable to live in their homes due to abuse, neglect or other life events.
She resides in El Dorado with her husband, Larry D. Yarbrough, and their two sons, L.J., 15 and Lance, 13.
Robin Bridges,
University of Arkansas System Division Agriculture Extension county agent for Union County, will be the guest speaker at noon on Tuesday when the TOUCH (Tremendous Opportunities for Union County Health), meets at Simmons Bank, 100 W. Grove, in the second floor conference room. Bridges is a 28-year extension agent and will present “Gardening for Healthier Communities.”
Bridges has a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston and a master’s degree from the Louisiana State University at Baton Rouge. He worked for 25 years with the LSU Ag Center in north Louisiana. He has worked at the extension service in Union County for eight years.
He works with adult and youth audiences to instill a strong sense of selfworth through activities that teach, “we can raise our own food,” and “we can build and maintain healthy communities-one family at a time,” he said.

The meal will be catered by Paula’s Catering and will consist of chicken spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage for $5 for those who register by noon on Monday.
TOUCH Coalition is a hometown health coalition serving all of Union County. Its mission is to improve the health of Union County residents by improving healthy behaviors, supporting culture and recreational opportunities, and reducing substance use and abuse among youth and adults through awareness,

of Magnolia will be the guest speaker when the Kiwanis Club meets at noon on Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church.
••• Vicki Milam, RN, CEN, AR SAVES facilitator at Medical Center of South Arkansas, will be the guest speaker when the Senior Circle Lunch and Learn program is held at noon on Wednesday in Conference Room 3 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. The event is hosted by MCSA. Lunch is free for Senior Circle members and $15 for non-members.
Milam, a registered nurse of 22 years and certified emergency nurse, will be discussing “Signs and Symptoms of a Stroke, Telemedicine and the AR SAVES program.” Telemedicine provides 24/7 access to neurologists across the state working in tandem with MCSA emergency department specialists to “deliver patients high-quality personalized care when they need it most.”
