Gardner High Alumni holds fundraiser Saturday

HThe Gardner High School Alumni Inc. of Strong will host its Annual Fundraisin­g activities beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017, on the parking lot of Strong Supermarke­t, Hwy 82.

The fundraiser will consist of a variety of delicious baked goods and other items. Everyone is invited to please support this effort.

Norphlet City Hall to close today

NORPHLET — The offices at Norphlet City Hall will be closed today in observance of the Good Friday holiday. Norphlet Water, Entergy and CenterPoin­t Energy bill payments can be put in the drop box in Mayor Jim Crotty’s office door. Normal office hours will resume at 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

Holy Week Services

The Salvation Army of El Dorado is having a Good Friday service at 7 p.m. today featuring Tenebrae, the Service of Shadows.

The movie, “Risen,” will be shown on today at 7 p.m. at Felsenthal Baptist Church, followed by a communion service, in observance of Good Friday.

Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in El Dorado will have two Good Friday services today: English at 5:15 p.m., and Spanish at 7 p.m.

St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in El Dorado with have its Good Friday liturgy at noon. The Stations of the Cross will be at 2:30 p.m.

A 6:30 p.m. Good Friday service will be held at the First

Assembly of God of El Dorado.

Holy Redeemer Catholic Church will begin its Easter Vigil Mass at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday in the courtyard behind the church for the blessing of the Easter fire and Paschal candle.

At 9 a.m., St. Mary’s Episcopal Church will have a Holy Saturday liturgy at All Souls Chapel. The Great Vigil of Easter, with Holy Baptism and Holy Eucharist, is at 8 p.m.

There will be a flashlight Easter Egg hunt at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the First Assembly of God.
