Price: ʻGet to tasing!ʼ
Stunning misdemeanor charges
EL DORADO — Steven A. Price, 42, of El Dorado, was arrested Thursday for allegedly threatening his father and throwing items inside his house; during the arrest, authorities stunned him twice with a stun gun to get him to comply, according to the
Union County Sheriff ’s
Office.
Thursday morning, sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance call from a residence located at the
100 block of Rainwater
Road. The report was filed at 3 a.m.
The complainant, Price’s father, told authorities late at night his son woke up and began yelling about his wife, who left earlier in the day due to an ongoing dispute with Price.
According to authorities, Price’s father took his son’s wife to a hotel for the night, because she and Price had been fighting for the last couple of days.
When Price awoke, he began throwing items against the walls and pulling out kitchen drawers; then Price pushed his father in the hallway and said “he was going to beat [him up],” according to the report.
At that point, his father called the sheriff’s office, and deputies arrived later at the house with a notice from dispatch that there’s an active warrant for Price’s violation of probation or parole.
Deputies began searching the house: they looked inside the bathroom, behind the bedroom door; and as they approached the bedroom closet, Price walked briskly out with his hands up, according to the report.
Deputies said Price began yelling and cussing at them, saying there wasn’t a reason for them to be there.
They told Price to get down on the ground or he would be stunned with a Taser.
“Get to tasing!” price said: at which point a deputy shot him with a stung gun on the left side of Price’s chest; when he failed to comply, another deputy shot him in the back with his stung gun, according to the report.
Deputies escorted price out of the residence and later booked him into Union County jail.
He is facing the following misdemeanor charges: Assault on a family or household member, second-degree terroristic threatening, refusal to submit to an arrest, violation of parole, and public intoxication.
In court, Price pled not guilty to the charges. His next court date is June 7.
