For the Weekend
•A Flashlight Easter egg hunt will be held at dusk on Saturday at the El Dorado First Assembly of God Church, 2225 W. Hillsboro. Games, inflatables and popcorn will begin at 7 p.m. and the hunt will begin at dusk. Children will hunt eggs in three different age groups – 1 to 3 years old, preschool through kindergarten and first through fifth grades. Church members will hide 9,000 eggs. Children should bring a flashlight and a basket to collect eggs, according to the Rev. Amber Cleveland, children’s pastor at the church.
•The Gardner High School Alumni Inc. of Strong, will host its annual fundraising activities beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, on the parking lot of Strong Supermarket, U.S. 82. The fundraiser will consist of a variety of baked goods and other items. Everyone is invited to support this effort. •The L.C. and Hazel Ross Scholarship Foundation will host a golf tournament at 9 a.m. today at the Lions Club Municipal Golf Course in El Dorado and a co-ed (one female/ one male) three-point shooting contest at the El Dorado High School arena beginning at 6 p.m. today. The golf tournament will be grouped by age – flight one is 50 and under, flight two is 50-65 and flight three is 65 and older. The entry fee is a donation per player. Entry fee for the threepoint shooting contest is $20 per team and the first 10 teams to pay the entry fee will participate. Trophies will be awarded. The Flawless Ballers (former Lady Wildcats) will take on the Young School Lady Cats at 7 p.m. today. At 8:15 p.m. today, The Survivors will face the South West Flight. All basketball participants are asked to make a donation to the scholarship fund. Half-time entertainment will be provided by members of the Junior Elk Herd No. 473 Steppers and the Southern Belle Dance Company. A concession stand will be on site and all proceeds from the events will go to the L.C. Ross Scholarship Foundation.
•Volunteers in the community will be working on the 41st Habitat for Humanity home in this area from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday. The new home is located at 537 E.
