April 14, a deputy responded to a residence located at the 400 block of Wages Drive in Norphlet around 1 p.m., regarding an unwanted person. The deputy made contact with the unwanted person who said, “I busted out all the windows to my dad’s vehicle.” The deputy estimated the damage costs for the gray Honda Civic to be more than $1,000. The deputy arrested the unwanted person and heard the complainant’s account. Around 12:45 p.m., the complainant said, his

son came to the residence demanding to let him inside. He evicted his son on Wednesday for drug use, the complainant told authorities. His son then grabbed a 4-way tire iron and tried to break into the complainant’s car, steal a gun and shoot him. Damage included busted windows and dents all over the vehicle. The complainant said he removed the pistols before his son could retrieve them. He told authorities there were two pistols and a rifle inside the vehicle at the time of the incident.

••• April 13, a deputy responded to a property damage report at a residence located at the 1000 block of Grady Bell Road around 11 a.m. The complainant told authorities there were ruts in his yard and drive way caused by an 18-wheeler. The driver told the complainant that he

mistook his driveway for a business driveway located north of the incident. Upon entering the complainant’s driveway, the semi-truck became stuck in the yard, which caused topical and waterline damage to the complainant’s property, according to the report. The deputy made contact with the driver, who confirmed the complainant’s account.

••• April 12, three deputies and two lieutenants responded to a residence located at the 4000 block of Magnolia Highway regarding an active parole warrant. At the back door of the residence, they made contact with a woman who said the man they were interested in was not there and that they couldn’t enter the residence without a search warrant. Another witness stood under the back porch and said their

suspect was inside helping him fix the floor and walked to the back yard as the deputies drove up. Then the woman told deputies that they had permission to search the residence. The deputies couldn’t find their suspect inside. In the back yard, the deputies found a shed that appeared to be locked from the inside. A deputy observed an extension cord running from the residence to the shed, as if a person had been living inside for some time. Deputies forced open the door and saw a pair of feet behind a sheet in the back of the shed. The deputies called for the person to come out with his hands up. The unknown person began

to lie down on a wooden box. Deputies identified the man as their suspect. They called out the suspect’s name several more times, but still no response. A deputy and lieutenant began walking to the back of the shed, and removed the back glass window. The lieutenant received a cut requiring nine stitches. The suspect still would not respond, even though the deputies could see him. Deputies used OC spray on the suspect and when that failed to work, they shot a stun gun three times at him. At this point, the deputies took him into custody. Also, deputies arrested the woman for hindering apprehension.
