County Reports

Sunday, Deputies responded to a residence located at the 1300 block of Cody Road, regarding a theft of property report. The complainan­t told deputies that he and his family left their house around 12:30 p.m. for an Easter gathering. When they came home at 5 p.m., he said, he could see the front door cracked open. At first, nothing looked to be stolen; on further inspection, $300 was missing from his top dresser drawer, he told authoritie­s. Nothing else was reported as missing.

Monday, a deputy responded to a missing persons report. The complainan­t told the deputy that she had not heard from her daughter in a couple of days. Deputies made contact with her daughter’s roommate, who said she had last seen her around 11 a.m. on Sunday. She told authoritie­s that the complainan­t’s daughter spent the weekend with her boyfriend and some friends. The roommate spent Easter with her family in Magnolia; when she returned that evening, she saw the complainan­t’s daughter’s belongings, except for her heart medication. Also, deputies made contact with the missing person’s boyfriend, who said the last time he saw her was around 7 a.m., Sunday, when he dropped her off. Deputies attempted to make contact with the missing person, but her cell phone was out of minutes.

Monday, a deputy responded to a residence located at the 200 block of Hickory Street in reference to a disturbanc­e around 8:30 a.m. The complainan­t told authoritie­s she was taking the garbage out that morning and saw a man pull up to a nearby curb, step outside and threatened a man with a loaded shotgun, stating: “You got my dog!” The man told him, “I don’t know what you’re talking about.” The man with the shotgun got back in his vehicle and drove away. Another witness confirmed the complainan­t’s account.

Monday, a complainan­t told authoritie­s that between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., Sunday, he was in his car traveling near Junction City Hall, when a person

driving a gray Ford Explorer was waving or pointing a handgun in his direction. He stopped his vehicle and watched as the Explorer drove on.

Saturday, deputies responded to a residence located at the 9000 block of Strong Highway, in response to a vehicle that crashed into the house. Emergency units arrived at the scene and reported a copper-colored vehicle with a disabled license plate had been driven into the side of the house. Paramedics treated the injured, while deputies investigat­ed the scene. A deputy talked with the driver, who said her foot got stuck on the accelerato­r; She tried backing her vehicle out of her driveway, but her foot got stuck, causing her to drive into the house. All the people inside the house were sent to the Medical Center of South Arkansas for treatment. The medical status of each victim is unknown at this time.

Monday, at 3 p.m., deputies responded to an unwanted person report. The suspect was described as wearing a dark green t-shirt with a red hat. Deputies made contact with the suspect by the pond in the front yard. The suspect said he was traveling through the property on his way to a funeral and that he had permission from the homeowners to do so. He couldn’t provide the homeowner’s names on demand. Two neighbors said the suspect was acting weird on their properties. Because the suspect acted in a strange manner and told authoritie­s he was going to take a patrol unit and leave, deputies arrested him. One of the neighbors told authoritie­s, the suspect trespassed into her kitchen; she threatened to shoot him if he didn’t leave immediatel­y. He left and attempted to enter another neighbor’s house, however he was greeted by a woman with a handgun. She told him to leave. While in handcuffs, the suspect threatened the deputies.

Monday, a deputy responded to a residence located at the 2000 block of Hibanks Road. The complainan­t told the deputy he returned home around 7:30 p.m. and saw his house lights on with the front door forced open. Missing items included: a rifle, crossbow, cash and some jewelery.

County Arrests

• Tommy Slaughter, 46, of Smackover, was arrested Monday after being served a warrant for violation of the Arkansas Hot Check Law. He is being held in lieu of a $269.50 bond, cash or corporate surety. If he is able to make bond, his next court date will be May 15.

• Sharde Moneek Harris, 27, of Magnolia, was arrested Monday after being served with a warrant for failing to appear in court. Columbia County deputies transporte­d her to the county line, where Union County deputies picked her up for booking at the Union County jail. She is being held in lieu of a $951 bond, cash only. Harris has a mandatory court date on May 15.

• Johnny Gunn, 45, of Huttig, was served a warrant on Monday for failing to pay Time Pay. He surrendere­d himself to the sheriff’s office and was later issued a citation to appear in court today.

• Lyndsey Harvey, 32, of Norphlet, was arrested Monday and served a warrant for hindering apprehensi­on or prosecutio­n of a suspect. She is being held in liue of a $15,000 bond, cash or corporate surety.

• Michael L. Miller, 29, of El Dorado, was arrested Monday and served with a warrant for violation of parole or probation and a petition to revoke. He is being held without bond with a pending court date.

• Jacob C. Kennimer, 41, of Texas, was arrested Monday and charged with residentia­l burglary, criminal trespassin­g and terroristi­c threatenin­g. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance today.
