2017 Graduation Calendar
Monday, May 1
Parkers Chapel High School will host its scholarship ceremony at 10 a.m. at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium.
Friday, May 5
Southern Arkansas University’s Spring Commencement ceremonies are scheduled, starting with the Department of Nursing honoring 49 nursing candidates at 8:30 a.m.
Following will be the first undergraduate ceremony at 10:30 a.m., which will consist of candidates from the Rankin College of Business and the College of Science and Engineering. The second undergraduate ceremony will be at 2 p.m., and will be for candidates from the College of Education and the College of Liberal and Performing Arts. The graduate ceremony is scheduled for 5 p.m.
Saturday, May 6
The University of Central Arkansas will hold commencement in the Jeff Farris Health and Physical Education Center. University officials will confer 888 undergraduate degrees and 242 graduate degrees during three ceremonies.
Commencement for the College of Education, College of Liberal Arts and College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is scheduled for 10 a.m. Commencement for the College of Business and the College of Fine Arts and Communication will be held at 1 p.m. Commencement for the College of Health and Behavioral Sciences will be held at 4 p.m.
Friday, May 12
South Arkansas Community College’s spring commencement ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. in the El Dorado Conference Center. The guest speaker will be former State Sen. Tracy Steele of North Little Rock, founder of the STAND Foundation and the current director of the Arkansas Health Services Permit Agency.
Saturday, May 13
Award-winning actress and director Phylicia Rashad will be the keynote speaker for the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Spring 2017 graduating class. The free, public event, will be held at 3 p.m. in the Pine Bluff Convention Center Arena.
Sunday, May 14
El Dorado High School will have baccalaureate ceremonies at 8 p.m. today at El Dorado Municipal Auditorium.
Smackover High School will host its baccaleaureate at 6 p.m. at Smackover First Baptist Church.
Monday, May 15
Smackover High School will host the Senior Class Luncheon at 11 a.m. and Senior Day will be held at 1:30 p.m. in Hobgood Auditorium, followed by the Senior Reception at 3:30 p.m. in the Smackover Downtown Library.
El Dorado High School’s graduation ceremony will be held at 8 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
Smackover High School’s graduation will be held at 8 p.m. at Buckaroo Stadium.
Tuesday, May 16
The Junction City High School awards and senior tea will be held at 9 a.m. in the JCHS Multipurpose Room.
Wednesday, May 17
Parkers Chapel High School will host its baccalaureate at 7 p.m. at Parkers Chapel Cafeteria.
Thursday, May 18
Junction City High School graduation will be held at 8 p.m. in the JCHS Gymnasium.
Friday, May 19
Parkers Chapel High School graduation will be held at 7 p.m. at Victor Nipper Football Stadium on the Haynesville Highway. In case of rain, graduation will be held at the PC gymnasium, 401 Parkers Chapel Road.
Monday, May 22
Northwest Elementary’s graduations will be at the College Avenue Church of Christ in the Family Life Center. Kindergartners will graduate at 8:30 a.m. and fourth graders will graduate at 10 a.m.
Retta Brown Elementary’s graduation ceremonies will be at East Main Baptist Church, located at 1903 East Main. Kindergartners will graduate at 9 a.m. and fourth graders will graduate at 10:30 a.m.
Junction City Elementary kindergarten graduation will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the JCHS Multipurpose Room.
Tuesday, May 23
Yocum Primary’s kindergarten graduation will be held on May 23. Students in Beasley, Gilkey, White and Boothe’s classes will graduate at 9 a.m. Students in Nash, Williams, Gammon and Clark’s classes will graduate at 1 p.m.
Parkers Chapel’s kindergarten graduation will be held at 9 a.m. in the new gym.
Thursday, May 25
Junction City Elementary sixth grade graduation will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the JCHS Multipurpose Room.
