- By Nate Allen

FAYETTEVILLE - One out of three ain’t good.

But if the one comes on the last one it can feel great.

That’s how Arkansas Coach Dave Van Horn felt Friday about his Razorbacks, particular-

ly relief pitchers Jake Reindl and Evan Lee, catcher Grant Koch, shortstop Jax Biggers and outfielder Eric Cole avoided.

For after staring down a 3-0 during Friday’s second game of a doubleheader following a 9-1 loss to the Ole Miss Rebels Thursday night and a 4-1 loss to Ole Miss in the first game of Friday’s first game, the Razorbacks rallied to win Friday’s finale, 7-4 and avoid losing their first SEC series sweep of 2017.

“It was huge,” Van Horn said. “That was a huge game for us mentally. I told the players, this is the biggest game of the year that we've had so far. Just the way it had gone, we really needed a win.”

Thanks to Reindl’s career long 6 1-3 innings of long relief off struggling starter Kacey Murphy, and Lee’s 3-up, 3 fly balls down save after inheriting Reindl’s walk and Cannon Chadwick’s hit batsman, and the hitting by Koch 2 for 4 with a 2-run home and a RBI double, Biggers’ 4-4 tie-breaking eighth-inning single followed by Cole’s 2 RBI insurance runs singles the Razorbacks, conclude the avoid the rain accelerated series 34-12 overall and 13-8 in the SEC West and ready to rest with no midweek games before the Thursday through Saturday SEC series at Tennessee.
