To The Editor:

The Youth Ministry Department of Christ Missionary Baptist Church would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the 2017 graduates of El Dorado High School on a job well done.

We pray all your dreams and goals are fulfilled as you face life as an adult. We urge you to proceed with caution in each endeavor that you encounter.

Never forget Jesus is your best example of love and strength.

Remember this analogy: If you soar with the eagles you can only go higher, whereas to keep company with buzzards you will remain earth bound. Challenge yourselves to be all you can be.

Never forget where all of your help comes from. La Mai Powell Director of Youth Ministry Christ Missionary Baptist Church To The Editor: Men who disappoint God. I’m sure God must be shaking his head when he hears these so-called singers and preachers say things that are not according to his word — things like if these hold their peace the very rocks will cry out. The only time the rock would have cried out is when Jesus made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. The Bible says let everything that hath breath praise the Lord and since rocks don’t have breath they are not required or told to praise the Lord.

A saint is just a sinner who fell down and got up. Lucifer fell down an angel and got up a devil.

I’m just a sinner saved by grace. It should be I once was a sinner but now I am saved by grace and I am no longer a sinner but a child of God and a friend of Jesus.

Jesus didn’t have to die. Jesus came to this earth on a mission from God with the cross always there and the only way he could pay the penalty for our sin was to die on the cross.

Those guys need to sing and preach the truth which is the word of God. Eddie Barnes Bernice, La.
