HEAT to be presented Tuesday
EL DORADO — Representatives from the El Dorado Golf and Country Club will demonstrate ways to prepare a healthy, gourmet pizza, when the HEAT (Healthy Eating and Tasting) event is held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday at HealthWorks Fitness Center in El Dorado.
The program is presented by the South Arkansas Center on Aging, a program of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, in partnership with HealthWorks, the Medical Center of South Arkansas and South Arkansas Community College.
The program is free to seniors and a light lunch will be served. Reservations are required and must be received by noon on Monday. For more information, contact the UAMS South Arkansas Center on Aging at 870881-8969.
Family Caregiver Workshop is planned
EL DORADO — A free Family Caregiver Workshop: Physical Skills for Caregiving will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the South Arkansas Center on Aging, 106 W. Main St., Suite 310, El Dorado. Lunch will be provided by Calhoun’s Medical Supply.
During the workshop, an overview will be
presented of how to perform physical skills associated with caregiving, such as bathing, dressing, eating, transfers and more in a safe and respectful way. The event will include hands-on demonstrations, resources and a question and answer session will be held.
