THURSDAY

Masterwork­s Chorus to perform The Regional Community Masterwork­s Chorus will join with the combined choirs of LaTech to present “The Seven Last Words of Jesus” by DuBois, and Mozart’s “Coronation Mass” at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 11. The combined choirs will be joined by profession­al soloists and orchestra. The famed LaTech pipe organ also will accompany the vocalists. The concert will be held in Howard Auditorium on the LaTech campus. Tickets are $10 for adults and students from secondary schools and all colleges and universiti­es are free. Tickets will be available at the ticket box office off the Auditorium foyer before the concert. Calion Council meeting reschedule­d

The City of Calion has changed the City Council Meeting from 7 p.m. Thursday, May 11, to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18. Lions Club Golf membership drive

The Union County UAPB/AM&N Alumni will sponsor a Spring Round-Up 2017 beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, at the Union County Recreation Complex. All UAPB Alumni and guests are invited to attend. You do not have to be a member of the chapter to attend.

Chicken Express grand opening Chicken Express will hold its Grand Opening at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 15. The El Dorado-Union County Chamber of Commerce will hold a Ribbon Cutting at 2209 N West Avenue at 10 a.m. During this event Chicken Express will be giving away a $100 gift card to a lucky customer for the first five days. A random ticket will be selected daily and a total of $500 in gift cards will be given out the first week.
