City Arrests:

• Larelle S. Henderson, 28, of 1336 Wilson, was arrested on May 8 for aggravated assault on a family or household member. Officers were called to Henderson’s residence in reference to a disturbanc­e, and upon arrival, they made contact with a man, who said Henderson, his children’s mother, threw a large kitchen knife at him during an argument. The man said he held Henderson down until police arrived and so that she could not pick up the knife again. The victim noted that three small children were present during the incident. Henderson admitted using the knife in the manner described by victim. She told officers that her boyfriend choked her. Police determined that the victim’s actions were defensive in nature and not done in a way would injure Henderson. Officers said there were no visible injuries to Henderson’s neck or throat.

City Reports:

• A woman told police on May 11 that someone broke into her residence in the 500 block of Beverly Drive and stole a handgun and a video game system.

• A woman reported on May 10 that her boyfriend struck her several times on the right side of her face with his fist. She said the suspect issued a terroristi­c threat against her as he was leaving the residence in the 1100 block of West 19th, telling her that he would kill her if she called police. A witness provided a similar account of the incident.

• Officers responded on May 10 to a report of a burglary a Per4Mance Off Road, 1409 N. West Ave. Police said several items were disturbed, the ignition systems were damaged in several ATVs, and an air conditione­r unit was damage. Police noted that it appeared that an ATV had struck the AC unit. A light bar that had been atop a forklift was reported missing from the business. Police said the burglary was captured on video surveillan­ce, which showed five black males tampering with ATVs in an apparent attempt to start them. Police identified possible suspects.

• The owner of T&T Cycle, 3011 E. Main, told police on May 8 that someone stole a wheelbarro­w from the property. He also said two storage buildings were open, but he could not tell if anything was missing from the buildings. A truck and one of the storage buildings were damaged, according to a police report. The suspect(s) reportedly cut the lock on the gate on the north side of the business to enter the property.

• A woman reported on May 8 that someone broke into her residence in the 600 block of Stuart and stole her puppy — a Chihuahua, Shi Tzu and a German Shepherd mix.

• On May 7, a woman told police that someone broke into her vehicle at her residence in the 100 block of Beacon Hill Dr. and stole her purse, which contained an iPad and a laptop computer.

• On May 7, police responded to several alleged incidents, including an aggravated robbery, two assaults and a car theft, that were reported at Hillsboro Town House Apartments, 1600 Short E. Hillsboro. A man reported on May 7 that he was jumped at approximat­ely 12:20 a.m. by several males, possibly juveniles. The man said he was sitting inside his girlfriend’s vehicle with a friend when a male approached him and asked for a cigarette. He said that when he told male did not have a cigarette and exited the vehicle. The male struck him with his fist. He said several males then began striking him, and they took taking his keys to the vehicle, a cellular phone and wallet, which contained $9 cash. The man said he tried to run to his residence, but the suspects shoved him down and struck him several more times before fleeing the scene. He noted that a female may have been with the group of suspects. A duffle bag containing two video game systems was taken from the vehicle, the man said. Police said the man had a laceration, swelling and bruising around his right eye, several of which teeth were chipped teeth, and there was a scrape on his left elbow. Police said they recovered duffle bag in some bushes near the spot where the incident occurred, noting that one of the video game systems was missing. Officers were later called back to the apartment complex in reference to another such incident. A 16-year-old boy told officers that he had walked outside and a group of males and a female approached him. He said two of the males “rushed him”, knocked him down and began striking him. The boy said he was able to get up and run upstairs, presumably in an apartment building, adding that the suspects “ran in different directions.” Police said the boy had a small abrasion on his lower back. The boy said he sustained the injury when the group knocked him down, and he landed on the sidewalk. An officer who was patrolling the area at 5:24 a.m. said he noticed that the vehicle in which the robbery victim had sat was gone. The owner of the vehicle said she had not moved the vehicle. Police noted they had advised the vehicle owner to remove the battery from the vehicle to prevent a theft, and they had demonstrat­ed how to remove the battery. At approximat­ely 11 a.m., the woman told police that she had recovered some items that had been taken from the vehicle. The items, toiletry and clothes, were in a pile near the apartment building just west of her apartment building, she said. Nearly three hours later, police spotted the vehicle abandoned in a field in the area of MLK and Beech

• On May 5, a woman told police that someone broke into her residence on Graves Court and stole $1,000 cash. The woman said she saw a young black male run away from the residence as she drove up.

• An employee TJ Maxx, 1835 N. West Ave., reported on May 5 that $1,237.09 worth of merchandis­e had been stolen from the business. The loss prevention manager said the thefts were committed by a former employee between March 30 and April 30, according to a police report.
